Spit? Really?

Today at McDonalds the kids came running over to tell me that another little boy was being mean. Suddenly, an innocent looking little boy who had to be all of three years old came running to the table next to us crying, "Mommy, those kids are being mean to me!" Now, I look at my children and think, of course not! My kids? I quietly tell Kaitlyn and Chase that I'm sure he wasn't trying to be mean and that they need to be nice and play with everyone. Down deep I know it was just a misunderstanding and that the boy was mistaken. That is until Chase said (quite loudly I'll add), "I spit on that boy Mom." HUH????? Did he really just say what I think he said? Did that boy's mother just hear what he said? Yikes. Obviously he got in trouble and was threatened that his McDonalds days will be numbered if I ever catch him spitting. Honestly though, I don't believe that he did it. I know Chase pretty well and I'm fairly certain that he would never do that. I think he honestly just wanted a reaction or something. He's had bad experiences with other older kids at McDonalds spitting at him. I'm just praying he isn't turning into one of "those" kids. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn has become the most BOSSY 5 year old girl I've ever encountered! Where did my innocent sweet children go? :)
